MINECRAFT?

Guys, (and gals)

A few people have mentioned having an SAOMMO MineCraft server.
To assess whether I should press the matter please answer these questions:

~Do you want a minecraft server?
~Why should we have one?
~What would you want on the server?

Personally, I do want a Minecraft server for us.
It would serve (-r ) as another game that this amazing community can all play together. It is relatively easy to procure and run so many should be able to play it.
I want our server to be a vanilla survival kind-of-thing that will be based around roleplay and our SAO. This could mean for it to be very easy to set up and run and also would help lessen lag for the players and minimize the money required for hosting.

But we would only be able to host this SAO server if enough people wanted it and would play on it so please, tell me what you want (what you really really want)!

I thiugt Hosting a minecraft server was expensive and insecure I am sure you can correct me Chuck btw will you need a Mojang account to play or could we make a cracked server, look forward to seeing you reply to this post tomorrow Fries

I am making sure to make the server as inexpensive as possible whilst maintaining a constant 20tps. No server-side lag.
You do not need a mojang account to play anyway, just a minecraft account.
I personally own a minecraft account and I am not a fan of things like mineshafter and other cracked clients.
If this is needed however, as some may not be able to afford minecraft, I will... look into it. No guarantees.
But if you can afford it, buy it. How would you like someone to make and distribute free copies of a game that you made?

Like it would totally defeat the object of the game. I mean you would be playing on a minecraft server instead of the actual game. What's the point of that?

This forum is about SAOMMO. It is the community that are playing SAO MMO's. This server will be an MMORPG server that is based around SAO.
Also, we might want another game less if you released your's .

I would like to see how a SAO minecraft server worked first before I could like it or not, but it sounds chill from what I can imagine.

it would destroy the whole point of sao. u cant make a sao game for aother game it doesnt make sense. if that is the case wat is the point of sao?

It would totally be doable to do a SAOMMO in minecraft, Because hardcore mode.

i dont think he is trying to take over with minecraft instead of the game or anything like that just something to do while waiting for this awesome game and i think it would be pretty cool actually because all of you guys seem pretty chill

That was the only way I could think of to make a SAO minecraft server, but I'm thinking about like the skills. It seems kind of hard to me.

Okay, there are two possibilities for how I would make this server.

1) I actually find all of the plugins, build Aincrad etc. and we have an SAOMMO but in minecraft. This would very hard to make and even the 'real' SAOMMO might come out before I finish!

2) A relatively light server based around our awesome community that is probably vanilla and we do what we want. No protections (apart from spawn), no blacklisted items.
This would be very easy for me to set up and I could have it all going imminently if people want to play. It could be easier to host and it should be easier to run/play on for us as well.

So guys (and gals),
Which one do you want?

The second one obviously, but of course everyone will want some sort of floor system or mobs to fight. That shouldn't be too hard to find the right mods and such, but I dunno if everyone would need the mods or just the host.

There will obviously be mobs.
Also, it's plugins, not mods, that I shall use on this server.
Plugins are server-side. I.e. players just need vanilla minecraft (not Tekkit, Voltz etc.)
I have got the server sorted so I just need a go-ahead, who will play on it?
