First off i think there should only be 3 ways to obtain items.


Killing monsters

When u kill a monster there should be 3 types of items that the monster drops the first one is material items that players could use for crafting,forging...ect, and the second kind of item should be potions, and the third should be equip items.Also it should be random what type of item the monster drops where getting an equip item is the rarest then crafting/forging items then potions (exp. equip=20% Crafting/Forging= 30% Potions=50%). Another thing is items within those item classes should be divided up into rarity where the best items can only be obtained by killing the floor boss and the common items can be obtained by killing the regular floor monsters.Finally Not all monsters should drop items.


Buying from NPCs/Quest


Items u can get from NPCs should be extremely common and easy to get and very cheap. The items that u get from quest can be common-extremely rare depending on the difficulty of the quest. Also i think both items and quest that u obtain from Npcs should be limited in other words if the shop npc runs out of the item or the mission npcs don't need help any more they go on cool down until the next in game day.While the quest or item is on cool down no one will be able to get/buy the quest or item until its off cool down. The max number of quest that the serer is able to do should depend based on the rarity of the reward and the difficulty of the quest. that being said i also think that guilds should be able to create their own quest like if some one killed ur friend u can put a bounty o their head and let others get revenge for u or if there is a certain item u want u can put out a reward for someone to bring u that certain item.For those who might ask y i'm suggesting this well its because as i looked back at episode on i remembered Kirito saying that their were limited amounts of resources in the game hence the whole reason y he went to the second town to buy items instead of staying in the town of beginnings. He knew that everyone would be their trying to get the best weapons that town had to offer so he went to the second town instead. I also remember in the second episode in the meeting before they went to go kill the first boss one of the characters were complaining how all the beta testers took all the good quest and items for themselves.

Professions/Jobs
In my opinion this should be the main way how players get better equipment. the good items should be crafted by players and sold by players to other players. and if u follow my first 2 ideas then the player base will be forced to depend on each other to beat all the floors. Also i think that u should only be able to have on profession at a time but u could quite and join another profession at the cost of losing all ur experience in the previous profession.

p.s. imma post some proffesion/jobs i thought of in another thread

what about when you kill an person you steal from their bodies and they gotta create a new char..

i think that u shouldnt be ble to steal eerything from a dead body i think that that should be a proffesion called theif and the higher it is the more chance u have to take somthing off the dead body
